Save Room for Dessert...Magic Brownie Bars

Hello Dollies, Seven Layer Bars, Magic Bars, these delights have many names and all of them delicious. This is my take on this old favorite, and it's super quick and easy to put together as it starts with a brownie mix of your choice. Actually, all of the ingredients used to build these bars can be individualized. I used three types of chips, but you could use just one, two, or even use more than three! Have fun and make them taste like magic!

  2. I love this slice. I do it with white chocolate and macadamias and it is devine! Wish all slices were this simple!

  3. I love these because they are basically all of my favorite cookie bar ingredients in one recipe. How could you go wrong?

  4. Oh, God, Louanne. These have got me really scared. I really badly want one of these - only trouble is if I make them I will have to eat the whole lot as I don't have anyone in the house to share them with at present. Perhaps I better just bookmark them for the next time I go visiting :-)

  5. Yum, these bars look like they have it all. The magic must be in how fast they get eaten up. I have a linky party on my blog right now called "Sweets for a Saturday." I'd like to invite you to stop by and link this up.

  6. I have a question about the recipe. It says 1+1 teaspoons butter and I just want to be sure it is in fact 2 teaspoons of butter. 1 for the brownie crust layer and 1 to toast the pecans with. Thanks!!!

  7. Yes, that's correct. One for the pecans and the remaining for the brownie.

  8. I have a question too.  It says to use Family Size Brownie Mix.  When I was at the store I saw regular boxes of mix and then I saw Family Size which was like 4 regular boxes.  Also, do you suggest a metal or glass dish?

  9. I used the Pillsbury Chocolate Fudge flavor in the 19.5 oz Family Size box.  The box makes a 13x9 pan, so if you're using another brand, be sure it's enough for a 13x9 sized pan.  I used a Pyrex baking dish lined with parchment paper.  Once the brownies are done, you can remove the entire pan of brownies by lifting with the parchment overhang.
