I made
amaretti for Easter, using powdered food coloring to get lovely pastel hues. I remember thinking how pretty they would be on the Christmas cookie platter. The hue of these are not as deep as I'd have liked, so in my next batch, I'll add more powder. The taste, however, is exquisite. These are a favorite of my husband, and when I baked them yesterday, I had to stash a few for their photo op. These are a delicious and easy addition to your holiday cookie platter or for Santa!

ReplyDeletePowdered food coloring? I've never encountered it before but it sounds like a good thing. I usually use the gels. They are intense.
