12 Weeks of Christmas Cookies....Christmas Amaretti

I made amaretti for Easter, using powdered food coloring to get lovely pastel hues.  I remember thinking how pretty they would be on the Christmas cookie platter.  The hue of these are not as deep as I'd have liked, so in my next batch, I'll add more powder.  The taste, however, is exquisite.  These are a favorite of my husband, and when I baked them yesterday, I had to stash a few for their photo op.  These are a delicious and easy addition to your holiday cookie platter or for Santa!

  4. Powdered food coloring? I've never encountered it before but it sounds like a good thing. I usually use the gels. They are intense.

I adore amaretti and these are so adorable!

  6. I'm sure I've never had amaretti cookies before, they sound wonderful. I know I'd love them. I bet they're light and airy and I could eat the whole batch at once! Something I don't need to do.....
